Possible Reductions:

Service Hour Program: Each school family has the opportunity to earn $400 off their tuition by volunteering at different school and church sponsored events. Refer to the St. Joseph School Service Hour Plan below for more details.

Catholic Education Foundation: Apply for a $500 grant through the FACTS program.

The Nailer Tuition Assistance Fund: Need-based grants are avaliable for $500-$750 based on the State of Illinois free/reduced lunch application form.

Manna Gift Cards: Manna gift cards are for area grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and retailers. The school purchases these gift cards at a discount, usually 4-10% off face value. You purchase the gift cards at face value. Manna cards are simply gift certificate cards. The school receives half of the discount and you receive half the discount as tuition credit. How can I use Manna gift cards? They make great gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. Its really that easy! Manna Gift Card List

Current school families earn a 10% tuition credit for each new family sponsored for enrollment during the 2008-2009 school year. The credit will be posted to the tuition account of the current school family at the end of the 2008-2009 school year. Both sponsoring and incoming families must be current with their tuition to recieve this discount.

Each school family is required to sell $400 in fundraising throughout the school year (this brings in $200 profit for the school). Families who do not sell $400 throughout the school year will be billed for the balance of the expected amount of profit on the final tuition statment of the school year.

2008/2009 Financial Agreement

The registration fee is $25.00 for each family registering one or more students. This registration fee is non-refundable and does not apply to any other fee or tuition.

St. Joseph School is dedicated to providing its school age children with a quality education, both in Catholic Faith and in all elements of school curriculum and atmosphere. Norms have been set up to help achieve thet purpose and goals of the St. Joseph School Catholic Education Community.

Parents must commit themselves to fufilling their financial obligations as outlined in the financial rates for 2008/2009.

Service hour fees are included in total tuition amounts. The rate for working service hours is $20.00 per hour. A maximum of $400.00 may be deducted from tuition as worked. You will recieve a service voucher within a reasonable time after working any approved rund-raiser for the school or church.

Each family has a fundraising obligation to raise $200.00 profit for the school. This helps keep tuition costs down. St. Joseph PTO sponsors several fundraisers that you may participate in: candy sales, giftware, and much, much more.

A 5% discount off tuition will be given when tuition is paid in full by September 1, 2008

2008/2009 St. Joseph School Service Hour Voucher Plan

Each school family has the opportunity to work 20 service hours to the school or church for each school year at an approved event or activity. $20.00 is credited for each hour worked not to exceed $400.00 per school year. The current school year funding projects begin in June and end in May. $400.00 is included in the tuition amount and is taken off when vouchers are handed in with your tuition payment. A maximum of $400.00 may be used during the school year.

Working at fundraisers

Fill in and return your requests for preferred dates and events on forms provided by the school office.
Parents have the responsibility to sign in and out when working.
Workers must work at their designated times in order to recieve a voucher for time worked.
Service Vouchers will be given through the school office after you have worked your event. If you have not recieved your voucher within a reasonable time, please contact the school office.

Bakery:

Bakery will not be counted for voucher purposes unless it is for a bake sale (for example: the Christmas Cookie Sale). One half-credit will be given for any donated cake or 4 dozen cookies (one half-credit equals $10.00).

As you know, St. Joseph School relies heavily on volunteers for fundraising events. If a parent or guardian signs up to volunteer for a fundraising event and are not able to attend the event, they must do one of the following:
1. Find an adult to fill the time position, or:
2. Call the event coordinator and contact them as soon as possible. A phone number will be made avaliable to all volunteers for each event.

If neither of the above is done, the hours will not be able to be made up at a different event.

Extra service hours and donations are needed and encouraged to help keep tuition costs down.

From time to time, families hit a bump in the road and need a little help. Whether its work or health problems, most of us have been in that situation. This program was established to help our SJS families during a time of transition.

Here's how it works:
Donate a few dollars or gift cards to the school office. Manna cards will be purchased with monetary donations and given to the family needing help.

How can you help? Send your donation in an envelope to the school office. Please mark on the envelope "Family-2-Family." It's as easy as that!

As Christians, our mission is to be there to help each other. This is a simple, easy way to share ourselves with our school families. It's a small gesture that will go a long way.

If you know of a family who could use a little help, please notify the school office. Thank you.

"Whatsoever you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me" (Matthew 25:40)
